Overcome

Life’s Challenges

     and Thrive

I truly believe that each of us has the ability to thrive—not just survive—in life. Together, we can create a space to help support and guide you toward achieving your personal goals, so you can experience more peace in your life.

Services

I provide therapy to individuals aged 16 and up. I specialize in relationships and perinatal mood disorders. I love assisting clients navigate life transitions and cope with anxiety, depression, and the stressors life throws our way.

During sessions, we work collaboratively to identify your goals and utilize coping skills and communication techniques to achieve them. Each session is tailored to your specific needs and offers a dedicated space for your healing and growth.

If you have questions about what to expect, how therapy can help, or the specific services I offer, I'm happy to offer a 15-minute phone call consultation or answer your questions via email. I'm committed to supporting you throughout your therapy journey.

Welcome

Rachel O’Coin

Being a lifelong resident of Connecticut, I have deep roots in the local community. When I'm not helping clients, I love making memories with my family and our furry friend Copper. In my free time, I am cheering for UCONN, enjoying a good cup of coffee, bargain shopping, and embracing the outdoors.

Allow me to share a bit more about myself and how I can assist you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.

INSPIRED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I was initially inspired to become a therapist as a teenager doing social justice work not only in my community but around the country and internationally. During my graduate school internship in an adult inpatient mental health unit, I developed a deep passion for mental health treatment and advocacy.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut with a double major in Psychology as well as Human Development and Family Studies in 2008 and earned my master’s degree in social work from Springfield College in 2010.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for over a decade, with my career beginning at a local hospital on inpatient adult and adolescent units. I opened my private practice LLC in 2018 and recently relocated my office from Manchester to Tolland.

CLIENT-CENTERED APPROACH

My therapy sessions are client-centered, utilizing a strengths-based approach. Whether you seek to learn coping skills, navigate a crisis, or explore past and present relationships, I strive to validate your experiences and provide effective support. By focusing on what we feel, what we want, and what we need, we can start taking care of ourselves.
